Bill 104 – Tamil Genocide Education Week Act, 2019 is introduced in 2019 by Member of Provincial Parliament of Ontario, Vijay Thanigasalam. Bill 104 states that “the seven-day period in each year ending on May 18 is proclaimed as Tamil Genocide Education Week. During this period, all Ontarians are encouraged to educate themselves about and to maintain their awareness of, the Tamil genocide and other genocides that have occurred in world history.”¹ Bill 104 unanimously passes the Second Reading with all-party support and is referred to a Standing Committee.

This historical Bill is introduced as Tamils across the globe mark the 10th year anniversary of the Mullivaikal Massacre.
